Recently retired jockey Danny Beasley will head to Albury with confidence on Tuesday when Tropical Breeze, the sprinter he trained to victory at Wagga Wagga in January, lines up in the ATM Here Class 1 Handicap (1000m).

Paisley has held a dual training and riding licence since late last year but is now concentrating solely on training, with Tropical Breeze resuming from a spell at the Albury track rated as a heavy 10.

“All indications are that she will be able to handle the wet track,” Paisley said.

“She does well in that, but in that respect it's a completely different story under the pressure of racing. She's a Denman, and they seem to like her in the rain.

“She's drawn a good gate and she's a fast runner so if she can get through it I think she'll take a lot of beating.”

Tropical Breeze will be ridden by trainee Holly Durnan, whose two-kilo allowance will mean the four-year-old mare will carry 54kg.

“She came into the race at a nice weight, and Holly was with her in her two trials on soft tracks, and she did exactly what I wanted in both of them,” said Paisley.

Tropical Breeze is owned by former jockey turned successful trainer Mark Newnham, who gave Paisley a number of horses to train when he moved to Hong Kong.
