London — Oasis will return to tour, the Britpop band known for timeless hits like “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” announced Tuesday, ending a 15-year hiatus. The band is set to return for another tour in 2016. Long-standing enmity between brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

The guitar band said tickets for the 14-date tour will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The tour will kick off on July 4 and 5, 2025, in Cardiff, Wales, before moving on to four dates in Manchester, four at Wembley Stadium in London, two in Edinburgh and two in Dublin, where the tour will conclude on August 17, the band said in a social media post.

“This is it. This is what happens,” the band said.

Behind the band's breakup

Oasis split up in 2009 after years of internal strife, with Noel Gallagher officially leaving the band before a festival performance near Paris. Even before the split, the relationship between the brothers had long been hostile, and it is said that they did not speak to each other for years after the split.

“People will write and say what they want, but I simply cannot continue working with Liam another day,” Noel Gallagher, the band's guitarist and songwriter, said in a statement at the time.

Although the Gallagher brothers have not performed together since, they regularly perform Oasis songs at their solo concerts. They have also traded barbs in the press.

Noel Gallagher accused his younger brother of giving them hangovers that forced them to cancel a scheduled concert in 2009. The lead singer denied the accusation and filed a lawsuit, later dropping the lawsuit.

Hints become reality

Rumours of a possible reunion were fuelled last weekend when Liam Gallagher took to social media to respond to unconfirmed reports that the band would be playing at Wembley Stadium in London and Heaton Park in Manchester. When one social media user criticised Heaton Park, the Manchester native wrote, “See you in the front,” calling the user a twat. In another independent post on X, he joked, “I never liked the word FORMER.”

Liam Gallagher replied, “Tell me man.” He also responded to several negative tweets about a possible reunion by saying, “Your attitude sucks” and “Shut up.” Noel Gallagher, on the other hand, has remained silent except for posting teaser clips.
