to update:More new iPad model identifiers It is recorded; This time “A2898” and “A2899”. That makes the total four, perhaps mirroring the two sizes of the iPad Pro and iPad Air.

As spotted by 91mobiles, two new iPad model IDs have been registered on the site Indian BIS Certificates Database. It's been a long time since new iPad model IDs have been introduced, with Apple releasing the last new iPad model roughly eighteen months ago, the largest gap ever between Apple tablet generations.

Unfortunately, the database doesn't really reveal any other details about the products, but they will most likely correspond to the upcoming iPad Pro or iPad Air models. Bloomberg previously reported that Apple is preparing new OLED iPad Pro and iPad Air models to debut in early May.

These new iPad models are highly anticipated, and not just because of the long wait since the previous generation.

We expect significant updates across the board, with the redesigned iPad Pro lineup and the new, larger 12.9-inch iPad Air size.

The new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro will feature M3 chipsets and OLED displays for the first time, offering improved brightness and contrast compared to current mini-LED displays. The body of the iPad Pro is also expected to change, with the OLED display allowing for a thinner and sleeker overall design. The Face ID camera is expected to move to the horizontal edge, a change that was first introduced with the 10th generation iPad.

We're also expecting new versions of the iPad Pro accessories, namely the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil. The new keyboard may feature an aluminum base, with a larger trackpad to more closely mirror the MacBook experience. The Apple Pencil may feature a new tap gesture for additional contextual controls.

The new 12.9-inch iPad Air size will offer the largest iPad screen size at an affordable price, similar to the strategy Apple used with the debut of the 15-inch MacBook Air in the Mac lineup. The current generation iPad Air runs on the M1 chip, and we expect it to bump into the M2 chip. The iPad Pro will get the newer, faster M3 chip.

Updates for the iPad mini and base model iPad are also said to be in the works, but are unlikely to come soon. We currently expect a new base model of iPad to launch later in the year, during the fall holiday season.
