Kate Middleton missed the annual Easter Mass at church on Sunday as she continues to fight cancer.
As expected, the Princess of Wales did not attend the event, which was held at St. George's Chapel in Windsor with members of the royal family.
The Prince of Wales, as well as the couple's three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, were also absent as the family of five were expected to have a private holiday celebration at their Anmer Hall residence. In Norfolk.
It's unclear when Middleton will be out next amid her ongoing health issues. However, before she announced her diagnosis in a video message shared earlier this month, the palace said she was “unlikely to return to public duties” until after Easter.
Her last public appearance was at Christmas 2023, where she attended the morning service with her family.
Amid a wave of outrageous conspiracy theories about her absence from royal duties, Middleton revealed on March 22 that she is in the early stages of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer.
She did not reveal how serious the cancer was or what type of cancer she was suffering from at the time.
In a solemn video, the 42-year-old – who underwent abdominal surgery in January – said the news “came as a huge shock” to her and her family.
“William and I have done everything we can to address and manage this privately for our little family,” she said, explaining that they wanted to tell their children the news before it became public knowledge.
“I'm doing well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal, in my mind, body and spirits,” she continued, adding that William was a “wonderful source of comfort and reassurance.”
More royal family coverage to watch:
As the royal couple sat through Sunday's ceremonies, King Charles III – who has also been battling cancer since February – appeared for the first time since his diagnosis on duty.
The 75-year-old British monarch appeared in good spirits as he attended the service with his wife, Queen Camilla, 76.
The photos showed the couple greeting and waving to fans.
Also attending Sunday's mass were Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, as well as Prince Edward, his wife Duchess Sophie, and Princess Anne.
