Former Oakland Athletics players Matt Chapman and Mark Canha captured some precious memories from their last game at the Coliseum.

Emotional ending to the annual event Gulf Bridge Series It featured numerous connections between San Francisco and Oakland, with the Coliseum almost filled to capacity with fans from all over the Bay Area.
Chapman, who played for Oakland from 2017 to 2021, couldn't hide his emotions when he spoke to NBC Sports Bay Area's Carlos Ramirez before the game.
“It's definitely emotional, but it's definitely going to be emotional for me because this is the last time I play here,” Chapman said.
Kanha, a San Francisco Bay Area native who was with the organization from 2015 to 2021, expressed similar sentiments.
“Yeah, it’s kind of crazy,” Canha told Ramirez. “I can’t believe this day has come. It’s going to be… [a day of] Mixed feelings and something I'll probably hold on to for a while.
New York Giants manager Bob Melvin, who grew up in Palo Alto and played for the California team, was in charge of the Oakland Athletics from 2011 to 2021, and said: On rising emotions From his last appearance at the Colosseum.
“It's sad, first of all, because it's going to be my last game here, but there's a lot that happened today,” Melvin said. “There's a lot of emotion today.”
The Oakland Athletics' lease at the Coliseum expires at the end of 2024, and the team will play at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento for at least three seasons before hoping to move to Las Vegas.
The decision ends 56 seasons of baseball in Oakland after years of fruitless negotiations with the city of Oakland over a new stadium.
For Kanha and Chapman, they will always have a piece of the old stadium along with all those fond memories they picked up along the way.
