The idea of not having to pay rent while working may sound like a great perk. And one flight attendant did just that and is now living her “dream life” thanks to the airline industry.
What happened: Being able to travel the world is a dream come true.
Thirty three years Alexandra Kossoff I did just that, leaving Queensland, Australia, to work as a flight attendant for The UAEKosov lives in Dubai but has not paid rent for ten years.

“We get free accommodation and a tax-free salary, and not only that, but we take care of a lot of other things like transport, laundry, full medical and dental coverage,” Kossoff told news.com.au. “We are very well taken care of.”
Kossoff said a large portion of her salary went toward paying rent and bills while working in Australia. Now working for Emirates, a UAE-based airline, Kossoff is able to save more of her income and travel the world.

“What was very attractive to me was also not paying taxes on top of my salary,” she said.
Kosov said she lives in an apartment provided by the airline.
“You can either get accommodation provided by the company or opt for a housing allowance,” she said.
Kossoff, who previously worked as a beautician, said she was now living the “life of her dreams.”
“I was very lucky. I had a very wonderful time,” she said.
Training to become a flight attendant with Emirates can be intense and take up to eight weeks, Kosov told the newspaper.
“It's very rigorous training, but it stays with you for life – it gives you cultural awareness, how to stay calm and composed, and once you have all these skills, no one can take them away from you,” she said.

The report indicates that new flight attendants at Emirates receive a basic salary of about $1,236 per month, in addition to an hourly wage of about $17.86. They usually work between 80 and 100 flying hours per month, and they also receive meal allowances.
On average, economy class flight attendants earn around $3,435 per month, while flight attendants tend to earn more.
Kosov, who has a degree in marketing and public relations, said working in aviation has always attracted them.
“Since I was a little girl I wanted to be a flight attendant. I remember seeing the Emirates cabin crew on TV wearing their red hats and their eye-catching red lipstick, and I thought, ‘Oh my God, they are so beautiful.’”
Kossoff told the newspaper she recommends that anyone interested in becoming a flight attendant apply for what she called a “dream come true.”
