One person was killed and seven others, including a police officer, were injured in a shooting at CityPlace Doral, officials said.
According to Miami-Dade Police Information Officer Alvaro Zabaleta, at approximately 3:30 a.m., there was a dispute at the Martini Bar at CityPlace Doral when a security guard intervened.
That's when police say the shooter pulled out a firearm and shot and killed the security guard.
“There were cops everywhere,” rideshare driver Rob Abner told NBC6. “I'm here a lot, so it's kind of unnerving. It affects you personally.”
A video shared by Only in Dade showed several police officers at the scene with lights and sirens on.
A Doral officer was shot in the lower extremity and taken to the hospital. He was reportedly one of the two Doral officers who fired their weapons.
The shooter was shot and killed at the scene.
Video captured by NBC6 shows a Doral City Police vehicle pulling into the emergency entrance. As the police car was being pulled over, other officers were seen trying to help the injured officer out of the back seat of the car.
The officer has since been released from the hospital.
Six bystanders were also shot. Among them were two women and four men.
One of the men and a woman were taken to hospital in critical condition.
A video clip shows a medical helicopter arriving at the hospital in the early morning hours and transporting a person on a stretcher.
A man was also seen standing in the back of an ambulance with his hand covered with a bandage.
