Get ready for SpaceX Falcon 9 launch this morning!
SpaceX is targeting the launch from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Station at 8:59 a.m. EST, according to the Federal Aviation Administration’s operations plan. If needed, backup opportunities are available until 12:59 p.m.
Falcon 9 will deploy a batch of 21 Starlink internet service satellites, Which is packed inside the 230-foot-tall rocket's upper cover, into low Earth orbit.
No sonic booms are expected in central Florida during the Starlink 8-11 mission. After soaring into the sky on a northeast trajectory, the rocket's first-stage booster will target a landing on a SpaceX drone ship at sea about eight minutes after liftoff.
